Mother’s Day is a holiday honoring motherhood. Celebrations of mothers and motherhood can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who held festivals in honor of the mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele.

Screen Shot 2014-03-21 at 6.33.18 PMMothers are truly a special gift from God. Only they love and care about you unconditionally. If it weren’t for your mother, you wouldn’t be breathing right now. If nothing else, you should thank her for that. They go through a lot trying to raise us and that’s why everyone including YOU should pamper her on that very special day.

Best (free) ways to spoil her:

  1. Be cheesy
Why not write your mother a handwritten letter expressing how much you respect and lover her? Mention why love you her so much and thank her for all that she does. Be specific. Tell her that you’re grateful to have her. Go overboard and don’t hold any of your inner cheesiness back.
  2. The Queen-like Treatment
Your mother is a queen so you better start treating her like one. Do just about everything and anything she wants, without making her tell you twice. Maybe start her day with breakfast in bed?
  3. Spend your entire day with her
We don’t seem to do that a lot lately. We are all caught up with going out with our friends and spending time with them that we sometimes forget how important it is to devote some of our times to our families as well.
  4. Present her with flowers and chocolate
If you’ve had success in the past with these sweet and simple offerings, why not give them again?
  5. Prepare her favorite meal
Isn’t she the one that always makes your food? Well, it’s payback time

Those are all wonderful startup ideas on how to make her feel special but there are many more. Take a few moments and try to think “How can I make her happy? What can I do to put a smile on her face?” Whatever it is that you’ll do just make her feel special and worthy, trust me she deserves it.

I would like to wish my mother a wonderful mother’s day and I want her to know how much she means to me. I love you mom.
