Do not be fooled by the headline, this isn’t one of your typical “global warming is a government conspiracy theory” articles. No, this is just my passionate but non-extreme opinions on the numbers proving the theory of climate change to be merely an environmentalist fear tactic. Well what proof do I have of this so-called grand hoax? All the evidence lies in a recent National Review report conducted in February 15, 2015. The following is a quote from the study, “last summer, nonprofits such as the Energy Foundation and Tides Foundation distributed billions to far-left green groups such as the Natural Resources Defense Council, which in turn send staff to the EPA who then direct federal grants back to the same green groups”. The report outlines how just 3 years back, the American government had granted almost 33 billion dollars worth of federal grants toward climate change research. This money involved funding toward the NGOs states in the quote. Considering that this money was far more than the fundings of the oil industry that same year, a possible scandal was evoked. Though without enough evidence, the government was essentially immune to backlash. Moreso, the corporate media hadn’t batted an eye on this possible scandal, not one of the major 20 media outlets in the country did. What ever happened to newsworthiness? Oh, that’s right, it does not apply in government scandals and conspiracies.
Well, so much for not being one of those “typical government conspiracy” articles. Later on in the year it was revealed through leaked government emails to the “University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit” in 2009, that one of the men who was involved in the possible scandal, Michael Man (director of Pennsylvania State’s Earth System Science Center), had received a sum of 6 million US dollars after the incident took place. The evidence does not end there, it was also revealed through the same emails that key data in the yearly climate report of the “University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit” had been “greatly influenced” by the government. And guess what? The US government scandal was brought to light even more as Phil Jones, a scientist working with the “United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change”, stated that he has done “some work in the past” which has been intentionally confidential due to requests by the main funder, the U.S department of energy.
Although unrealistic, the evidence that global warming may be all but a government hoax in undeniable. Despite this, so are the numbers of CO2 and temperature increase in the atmosphere, hence why I cannot make any early conclusions. Whatever is going on with the environment, one thing is for certain, we all love some wacky conspiracies to get our minds busy.
